01
The service
These terms are between you and OpenPetAI, an independent UK community project. OpenPetAI helps people discover and share original animated pets for ChatGPT and Codex. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
By using the service you agree to these terms when they apply. Browsing is public and does not require an account. Downloading, voting and uploading require ChatGPT sign-in; uploading also requires explicit acceptance of the current terms.
02
Accounts, voting and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 to submit a pet.
- Use your own sign-in and provide accurate creator and contact details.
- You are responsible for activity attributed to your account.
- Each account may hold one upvote or downvote per pet. You may change or remove it at any time.
- Do not automate votes, use multiple accounts to manipulate scores, evade limits, interfere with moderation or attempt unauthorised access.
03
Your uploads
You keep ownership of your work. You promise that you created the submission or have all permissions needed to upload and license it.
Do not submit another person's artwork, a famous character, a protected brand mascot, personal information without permission, malicious files, deceptive content or anything prohibited by the safety rules. You are responsible for the submission and the licence you select.
04
Permission to operate OpenPetAI
When you submit a pet, you give OpenPetAI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, validate, resize, review, display and distribute the submission as needed to operate and promote OpenPetAI. This permission lasts while the pet is submitted or published and ends when it is removed, allowing a reasonable period for caches and backups to clear.
This permission does not transfer ownership to OpenPetAI. Your selected download licence controls what other visitors may do with the file.
05
Using downloaded pets
You must sign in with ChatGPT before downloading a pet file. Follow the licence shown on each pet page and keep the creator's credit where required. “Personal use only” does not allow resale, redistribution, commercial use or claiming authorship. Creative Commons options are subject to the applicable licence conditions.
Do not use a pet unlawfully or imply a creator, OpenPetAI or OpenAI endorses you.
06
Moderation, reports and appeals
Every submission is reviewed before publication. A creator-only preview is not publication and does not make the submission visible to other visitors. OpenPetAI may reject, unpublish or remove content, limit submissions or suspend access where reasonably necessary for safety, rights protection, service integrity or legal compliance.
You can report content, request removal, or challenge a decision with supporting detail. Reports are assessed by context and severity; urgent safety and legal issues are prioritised. Repeated bad-faith reporting or attempts to manipulate moderation are prohibited.
07
Removal, availability and responsibility
Creators can remove individual submissions or all OpenPetAI account data from their account page. OpenPetAI may change or discontinue parts of the service and does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
The service and community files are provided as available. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
